THE BOOK OF DEBORAH - THE REMINDERS

Updated: Apr 4, 2021

As promised, here is a bit of backstory about my namesake, the Prophetess Deborah. She was the fourth of seven judges mentioned in the bible. She lived in the mountains, not unlike me. The citizens and their leaders behaved wicked again (thanks, Adam and Eve), and Deborah was appointed for guidance. She held court under a palm tree and, the people listened.

I thought to follow in her tradition of inspiring. I could suggest a new set of Commandments. Instead of all the shouldn’t’s, how about a few should’s. Maybe call them “The Reminders.”

1- Love. Need I explain more? Love everything. Treat it with love.

2- Share. If you have something, whatever it is, remember you only have it because of someone or something else. Share.

3- Evolve. Change is good. Remember, though, that everything changes together. Watch out for overabundance, like with prodigy; there’s nothing wrong with masturbation. It’s no longer a sin. Gently evolve.

4-Learn. It doesn’t hurt, and we can never have enough understanding. And as my Mom used to say. “Because I said so.” Her reminder to “listen and learn.”

5-Heal. The abominations that we have created will resolve and naturally heal.

6-Live. AND LET LIVE. So many attributes go with that reminder. Laugh, cry, amaze, and die when it’s time. That’s the point of Living.

7- Remember. No one wants to be the last swirl of the toilet flush. Just kidding; this one you need not remember.
