THE BOOK OF DEBORAH 3/30/24

HE BOOK OF DEBORAH

THOUGHTS FOR THE YOUNG AND SPRING 3/13/24

I should start my treatise by mentioning my inspiration Deborah, from the biblical towns of Ramal and Bethel in Israel. God only knows, (pun intended) what she would be thinking today with the goings on in her native land. This Deborah is certainly less ambitious than her but I haven’t had the benefit of instruction from the big guy lately either.

I want to be upbeat, hoping to make you and myself smile if only for the time it takes to read these lines. Imagine that? Springtime in the mountains is here and nature is responding, thank the Lord, and pray it doesn’t get too muddy this year.

The migrated birds have returned singing their arguments over who would make the best mate and the geese honking as they pass overhead is refreshing. A few uncommonly warm days are exhilarating and have motivated me to write a few words for all the young people growing up and starting their lives. Sorry, all you fellow biblicals you’re on your own.

Even with all the heartbreaking news surrounding us, I’ve decided to let it not distract me from my devilish thoughts of three young tenors who have captured my heart. They are handsome and brilliantly talented. Their group name is Il Volo. You must YouTube them and their music.

Where’s the time machine that could take me back fifty years? Wink wink, wink, one for each. Any more than three and I’m asleep. These three sons inspire me to send positive vibrations to all youth to be as carefree and excited about their tomorrows as I feel when the sun bursts through storm clouds. I may even contemplate those same good thoughts for myself. You should too.

Relish the energy and beauty of young people today. Remind them to breathe and relax in the moment, dance in the rain, bathe naked under the sun, for us ancients make that the moon.

Support their imagination and innovations. Hope they will pursue love with zest. Put away their worries about everything, and delight in the magic of life. Too soon the reality of survival sets in. Have a glorious spring everyone.
